Grammarly, the widely used digital writing assistant, faced a major outage on Friday, November 8th, 2024, impacting users in Pakistan and around the world. The disruption affected key features such as editing and proofreading, leaving users struggling to access the service.
Reports of the outage were discovered on Downdetector, a platform that monitors web service disruptions. 68% of users reported difficulties accessing Grammarly’s website, 24% encountered issues with the app itself, and 8% encountered authentication difficulties, according to data from Downdetector.
The service disruption’s pervasive nature was underscored by a visual graphic on Downdetector that depicted the surge in problem reports related to Grammarly over the past 24 hours.
Grammarly has not issued an official statement concerning the outage, which has resulted in users avidly anticipating updates and solutions to resume their productivity.
