The latest technology 5G will be launched in Pakistan soon. This report was revealed by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal at the closing ceremony of HEC-Huawei ICT Skill Competition 2017.
Technology had evolved in Pakistan in last few decades. New gadgets and technology are being introduced to the market every day. Pakistan is gaining rapid growth in technology. However, there is a craving for new technology in the country.

5G is a highly reliable communication source that provides the users high speed and efficiency. It is much faster than current LTE speed.
According to Ahsan Iqbal,
“We have to embrace this revolution and prepare our youth to keep pace with the world.”
According to Global System Mobile Association (GSMA), around 90% of Pakistani would have access to 3G networks, 80% of which will also enjoy 4G services by the year 2020.
As PTA Chairman Dr. Ismail Shah committed to facilitating all existing as well as new companies to test 5G in Pakistan. These companies will be given free test licenses and spectrums.
Anusha Rehman minister for Information & Technology believes that ICT services are developing in the country and broadband penetration increased from 3 to 27 percent in the last two years. She has earlier said that,
“We are working towards making a digital Pakistan. Economy through IT, freelance, start-ups, e-commerce and mobile apps are the future”.
The fifth generation technology is expected to be launched by 2020 making Pakistan among the first countries alongside China, UK, US, and South Korea to get this technology.
Thus, this next generation wireless network will further boost into tech industry and will improve the national and international connectivity of the country. 5G technology will swap for the home wifi networks giving better network coverage and fast speed.
