After the unfortunate stampede at last years’ Hajj, Government of Pakistan is exploring ways to monitor the pilgrims this year. The options under their radar are utilization of smart digital lockets or bracelets to monitor the movements, and keeping track in case of any unexpected incident.
The decision comes after an array of tragedies that struck at last years’ Hajj. As a result, the families back in the country were clueless, worried and depressed about their relatives.
“Each pilgrim will be tracked and accounted for,” Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Yusuf told Tribune .
These trackers will work round the clock and will be attached to a central monitoring system at Saudia Arabia.
