Government-backed DigiSkills now accepting registrations from interested youth

Government-backed program DigiSkills with an ambition to train at least 1M youth for freelancing has just opened up the registrations for trainees. People interested in becoming the part of this program can now register to enroll in an array of courses available to equip them with online earning. Most of the skills being taught are the skills of the 21st century.

The program was launched by the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi formally in the month of February with the ambition to train at least 1M youth with digital skills to help them earn through freelancing platforms.

Speaking at the occasion, Anusha Rehman said,

“DigiSkills program is an important endeavor of the Ministry that will create online employment opportunities to enable youth to earn 200 to 300 dollars per month. ”

Anusha Rehman believes that the program has the potential to upsurge the country’s exports to over $10 billion in a few years.

“DigiSkills program offers all online courses for free.”

DigiSkills program offers free online courses. Trainees can opt for two courses at the maximum and amongst the two courses, “freelancing” course is compulsory and the other course can be opted according to the choice of trainee.

The duration of the program is 3 months each. The freelancing course is taught by the top freelancer on Guru, Hisham Sarwar. Hisham holds fifteen years experience of working as a freelancer.

The course will offer video-based lessons and those who enroll will be evaluated through regular quizzes.

The Government has partnered with Virtual University for this challenge which will help the DigiSkills platform reach every nook and corner of the country.

While starting date of the courses is still to be announced, interested people can get themselves enrolled.
