Google to launch data-friendly version of its search app for mobile

Tech company Google is reportedly working on a data-friendly version of its search app for mobile, which it will release in the near future. The app will help those who use bad or slow internet connection and also who have smartphones with less internal storage capacity to stream on the internet with much ease.

It would be worth mentioning here that Google is currently testing its data-friendly version app in Indonesia.

This is not the first time the company is working on a lighter version of one of its apps, it has introduced a YouTube Lite app last year in India and other emerging markets. The app named YouTube Go allows one to save clips offline. Moreover, the app helps users to watch videos without much buffering even when a user is using slow Wi-Fi connection.

Moreover, the company has just recently redesigned the news feed for its mobile search app in a bid to make it more user-friendly. With the new update now in effect, it will give suggestions to users to read a specific story based on their search history. Additionally, Google has killed the Instant search option, which it introduced back in 2010. The feature showed you the search results as you typed in your query in Google search.

Lastly, the company is planning to kill URLs of pages in mobile search to make user interface (UI) clean and user-friendly.
