Google Play Now Supports Pakistani Merchant Accounts

Android Developers are allowed to create two types of accounts on Google Play Store: Publisher’s account and Merchant account. The former account permits to publish free applications on Play Store while the latter has an added benefit of selling paid applications or accepting in-app purchases.

Till now, Android developers in Pakistan were denied the excess of merchant account which created problems. Pakistani developers had to register accounts from foreign countries or get merchant account via someone with a foreign country Google account.

Google has recently updated the list of countries supported for developer and merchant registration. This time Pakistan has been included in supported locations for merchant accounts to accept payments for applications and in-app purchases. This will help developers in Pakistan to gain more access to Google Services and generate huge revenues on their premium applications.

Google Play Store has already been accepting Pakistani currency for application purchase. This helped them save 3.5% of transaction charges for foreign currency on each android application.

This incentive from Google will help flourish Pakistani developers and startup ventures to make their ground in international market.

You can setup a Google Merchant Account at this link.
