Some smartphones of Google Pixel have faced many issues after the update of Android Oreo. Firstly, there was an issue of Bluetooth connectivity in these devices and now the October security patch has shown a new problem with text messaging in these devices.
Some Pixel users have reported that they have stopped receiving text messages after they have updated their devices to Android Oreo. It appears that only incoming messages are facing interruption while the users are somehow able to send messages.
Google Product forum has replied after having many complaints from different users on this issue. It has appeared on a thread by a Pixel XL user on Verizon. Google Community Manager Orrin replied with following remarks,
“Thanks for all of the reports. The team is aware of this issue and working towards a fix. Some of you have mentioned that rebooting or factory resetting the device resolved the issue. Definitely, try to reboot, and if you do a factory reset, make sure all of your data/info is backed up.”
It looks like the Google Pixel users could easily resolve this issue after rebooting or factory resetting the phone. Similarly, Galaxy S8 users have also reported a problem with missing text messages on their smartphones after running the Android Oreo update.
