Google mistakenly offered 50% discount on Pixel 3 phones via emails

Google Store last night offered a few of its customers a discount of $300 dollars on the Pixel 3 smartphone series. But due to a glitch in the system customers were prevented from redeeming the discount code given by the Google Store. Google is now sending out new emails with the original promo codes to users through emails.

As part of the Google Store’s summer sale, the search giant has presented discount deals to its users where buyers can score $200 off any Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL. Google Store is giving an extra discount of $100 to some of the selected users, on the smaller version of Google Pixel starting at a price of $499. Meanwhile, the 64GB Pixel 3 XL device is only $599 with prices starting off at $699 for the range.

The criteria for getting the discount deal is unknown, and the offer presented by the store is valid until Friday, July 31st instead of Saturday. Google store told all the Android users who received the $300 discount email that it was a “glitch”. Google is reaching out to all those users who receive the email containing the incorrect prices of the Pixel phones to notify them about the glitch.

The users who are already eligible for the discount do not need to reach out to customer support to get the discount deal. However, those which were only offered a $200 discount should not expect a Pixel 3 promo code from the Google store.

The picture above shows the generous offer which Google Store presented to its users, and now is terming it as a glitch.
