Google launches Turn-by-Turn navigation for Pakistan

Google has finally enabled turn-by-turn navigation for all users across Pakistan and anyone with the latest Google Maps update iOS can take advantage of this feature.

Voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation has been the crown-jewel of Google Maps, allowing users to get voice commands detailing the whole route, eliminating the need to glance at your phone’s screen again and again. This feature has been available for most of the world but was absent for the region of Pakistan, uptill now. Now, Google has finally launched voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation for the country.

To start and exit voice navigation, all you need to do is open the Google Maps app on your phone and,

  1. Search for a location and tap on the car icon to get a route.
  2. Touch Navigate to hear voice-guided navigation.
  3. Accept the terms and conditions that are shown to you.
  4. To exit, go to the bottom left/notifications and touch the X.

Voice-guided navigation is also useful in the fact that it’ll tell you about the traffic conditions, where to turn, which lane to use, and if there’s a better route. If you get off track, it will automatically find a new route for you. It even suggested on its own that I take a fuel-stop on my way to my destination.

The new features are available on Google Maps’ latest Android update and are also reportedly working for a number of iPhone users.
