Google Introduces Gemini’s Research Model in Additional Regions

Google introduced many new versions of Gemini in the United States earlier this month, including Gemini 1.5 with Deep Research. Gemini’s Deep research feature is exactly what it sounds like: you give it a topic to investigate, and it goes to work, analyzing the content of dozens of websites and producing a report tailored to your specifications. Those models are now being rolled out in more regions by Google.

More people in Vietnam and Thailand will soon have access to the latest version of Gemini, as announced on Google’s blogs. This includes Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced, Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental, and Gemini 1.5 with Deep Research.

Key Features of Gemini Models

The 2.0 Experimental Advanced and 2.0 Flash Experimental versions of the Gemini are upgraded versions of the 1.5 Pro and 1.5 Flash devices that are already in production. Flash is a more lightweight and speedy variant, while Pro is slightly more detailed in how it performs your commands; Google defines them as being for “complex tasks” and “everyday help,” respectively.

On the other hand, the Deep Research feature of the AI is only available in the Gemini 1.5 model. When you use Deep Research, it will take research prompts, create a research plan, and let you make changes before actually conducting the research. Based on your question, it will search dozens or even hundreds of sources for relevant information and provide you with a comprehensive report. You are free to navigate away from Gemini while it works—the procedure just takes a few minutes. The report can be exported to Google Docs once the task is done.

Now Accessible in Specific Regions

Several locations, including the US, are now offering Gemini 1.5 with Deep Research to their Gemini Advanced subscribers. Deep Research is presently only available in the Gemini online app; it is not available in the iOS or Android apps. However, Gemini’s mobile web app gives you access to Deep Research in case you truly need it on the go.
