After many complaints from users, now Google has decided to make a software update to fix the faint clicking sounds in Pixel 2 devices. As we reported earlier that some Pixel 2 devices are facing issues of high-pitched noises and clicking sounds, now Google is going to resolve this issue.
After facing problems with device’s speakers some users approached Google Support to ask about the solution to the problems. Earlier Google responded with a simple solution to fix ‘clicking’ sound problem by turning off NFC. There was no mention of fixing high-pitched sounds so this problem still left to be explored.
Yesterday a community manager wrote on the Pixel User Community forum,
“We are validating a software update to address faint clicking sounds on some Pixel 2 devices. The update will be made available in the coming weeks. The clicking noise being reported does not affect the performance of your device, but if you find it bothersome you can temporarily turn off NFC in Settings > Connected devices > NFC.”
Many reports of weird sounds, including both clicking sounds and high-pitched noises, coming from the Pixel 2 were coming from different discussion forums. Google eventually said it was investigating the issue.
As we reported earlier, Pixel 2 XL’s apparent burn-in issue and complaints about the display’s color saturation, it is becoming a pretty bad month for Google’s consumer hardware team who might be cheering for their earlier success of launching two magnificent devices earlier this month. Google is planning a series of separate software updates to address the Pixel 2 XL’s screen issues.
