Google Drive is going to be the eighth platform of Google to add over 1 billion users. The cloud service Drive is joining the league of Gmail, Chrome, Maps, YouTube, Android, and Play Store by reaching 1 billion users.

Google made this announcement on Google Cloud Next conference in San Francisco, though it did not get into the details about exactly when its billionth user will officially log on the platform, only mentioned that the milestone would be happened “later this week.”

According to stats given at last year’s Google I/O Conference, Since the launch of Drive back in 2012, it has stored trillions of files and has more than 800 million daily users. In the past 12 months, Google has been expanding Drive capabilities with more business-driven features including Team Drives and a File Stream to maximize the space available to users.

Previously in May 2018, Google announced a new plan called Google One, which replaces its current online Drive storage plans. The Google One plan will replace all online Google Drive storage plans. This new plan brings expert support, upgraded storage tiers, and family sharing.

Google One customers will also get extra features such as one-tap access to product experts in case they run into an issue with any of Google’s services. Users can also receive extras like Google Play credits and deals on select hotel bookings found in Search.
