Google has unexpectedly confirmed the launch date for the second models of its Pixel-branded smartphones.
The year 2017 is coming to an end and all the major smartphone manufacturers have already showcased their best products. Google, which started developing its own smartphones under the Pixel brand last year, is also excited to show us its product from this year, the Google Pixel 2 and it could come out as early as on October 4th.
A new advertising campaign has been launched by Google, the US-based tech giant. Under the hood of a campaign, an official page made by Google asks the users if they are “Thinking about changing smartphones?”. Another text then lands on the page, asking the users to wait and tune in on October 4th. Google also asks the users to input their respective email addresses and the company will alert them with any important updates made on the way.
The mobile enthusiasts are now just waiting for the final invites to the event. As the conference is just less than a month away, we can expect the invites to be sent out soon. The first Google Pixel was also released on the same date, last year.
This would be the right time to round up the leaks we have with us, in the rumor mill. The smartphone is expected to come out in the market with Snapdragon 835 processor supplemented with 4GB of RAM. Reports say that the South Korean tech giant, LG has been asked to manufacture one of the two models of Google Pixel 2, while one model would be developed by HTC.
It has also come to light that one of the two pixels won’t be bezel-less. It’d most probably be the HTC-manufactured one which, however, will come squeezable controls like we saw with the HTC U11. Google is also reportedly ditching the standard headphones jack on these smartphones.
