Google Chrome for Android to get a massive speed improvement

Google Chrome might be the most popular choice for internet users but it is a memory hogger and uses so much RAM that it slows down the entire system. With the advent of smartphones and tablets, a huge chunk of internet traffic has moved to smartphones as a gadget of choice for surfing the internet. Consequently, more than 50% of the traffic on the internet comes through these devices rather than desktop computers and laptops.

Google, being in the business, understands that much better than anyone else. It has announced that the new Android update of Google Chrome, the version 59, will make the browsing experience 20% faster. The update includes development for faster page loading, stability and security patches. The new version will consume memory economically and come with improved JavaScript performance.

The update is currently rolling out and will be available worldwide in the next few weeks. If you, as a user, would like to speed up the process, head over to your Play Store application and open “My apps & games” page. The update might be visible and pending your approval.

Just recently, in a bid to make the internet cleaner, Google also announced an ad-blocker built right into the Chrome. The update and progress seemed very counter productive and counter intuitive for Google because of its own online advertising business AdSense but the search giant is taking the leap of faith while maintaining “online ads should be better”.
