Gmail launches its ‘Undo Send’ feature – and here’s how you can enable it!

Gmail has officially announced the launch of its Undo Send feature via a blog post this week. For years, we have all wished for an Undo button that could save us from sending an email to the wrong person, hitting reply all or forgetting to add an attachment. Many people might not know this, but Gmail had been beta testing this feature for quite some time now. Basically, it adds a delay of a few seconds to your email so that if you sent a wrong email or forgot to add some detail, you can take it back and prevent it from reaching the recipient email inbox.

Ever since its original announcement in 2009, Undo Send has been a part of Google Labs where it has repeatedly been tested upon. Google Labs allows users to opt for public beta’s of services that haven’t been officially launched and Undo Send was a huge favourite. The originally announced feature would let users add a delay of 5 seconds to their email, however now it lets you hold your emails for up to a maximum of 30 seconds.

How can you enable Undo Send? It’s pretty simple. Once you’re logged into your Gmail account go over to the Settings option right below your profile picture and select Settings from the drop-down menu. Once there, roll down and search for Undo Send. Enable that option and set email delay to 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds. Don’t forget to Save the changes before moving on!

This option is not available for Gmail on mobile yet, but Google plans to release this option for mobile soon. They have not given any release date for the update. Till then enjoy this feature on your PCs and save yourself from any mishaps in the future!

Do you see think this feature can be a life-saver for you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
