Global Outage Disrupts Whatsapp Services

Many WhatsApp users reported problems on Sunday with sending and receiving text and voice messages, opening the app, exchanging media files, and navigating the web platform, among other things.

According to DownDetector, 35% of users had app crashes, 34% had trouble sending texts, and 32% had problems with the website. Transferring media files (photos, films, etc.) appears to be the most affected feature.

Internet Challenges in Pakistan

The WhatsApp outage has made an already difficult situation much worse for consumers in Pakistan who are already coping with periodic internet interruptions.

During the past outages, connectivity problems were experienced by several platforms. Many users in Pakistan depend on these tools for their daily communication and business.

Because of today’s outage, users had a harder time sending media files, which is crucial for most activities; this caused communication problems in the commercial and academic sectors. Pakistan is highly reliant on reliable means of communication, and the fact that worldwide outages coincide with local internet instability is evidence of this.

Meta has not officially disclosed the cause of the outage, but it is widely believed to be due to server issues or technical faults.
