GIK Institute to officially launch an incubation facility for startups

Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) is officially launching The Incubator, its first entrepreneurship program, on February 16, 2017.

The Incubator, self-proclaimed leading startup program of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is a platform for fresh graduates and emerging startups which will provide them facilities such as office space, technical assistance, mentoring, legal assistance in intellectual property protection and company formation, computer and internet services, phone and fax facilities.

With the guidance of mentors, faculty and industry experts, the incubator hopes to provide an entrepreneurial environment to nurture the ideas of students.

Most recently, in 2015, ‘The Incubator’ was awarded a grant of PKR 100 Million by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In order to learn from its experience, the facility had been in beta stages, in which, many startups were incubated to test-run everything before the official launch. Now after several iterations, the incubator seems ready for the official go ahead.

The launching ceremony will take place at GIK Institute, Topi.
