Google Developers Group (GDG) Cloud Islamabad, in collaboration with Women Techmakers Islamabad, NUST ACM Chapter & NUST Entrepreneurs Club, is organizing its flagship event of the year, Cloud DevFest 2019, at the NICE Building, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) H-12 Campus on Saturday, November 30th 2019.
GDG Cloud Islamabad is part of a worldwide network of Google Developer Groups, supported by Google, focused on bringing the developer community together by organizing meetups and events. Likewise, Women Techmakers is also a Google program geared towards providing ‘visibility, community, and resources for women in technology’. The Islamabad chapters of both of these organizations have come together to organize this event, in order to provide the developer community of Islamabad a platform to interact with fellow developers, learn new skills and enjoy themselves.
The event will focus primarily on Diversity & Innovation which aims at giving the awareness of the latest technological trends irrespective of any technical background. This includes technical workshops, interactive sessions and tech talks conducted by some of the most profound people in the industry. Moreover, this year GDG Cloud DevFest is bringing in Googlers and Google Developer Experts from across the globe to give the know-how on the latest advancements.
This will cover the most important aspects like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things and especially Women’s contribution to Machine Learning and in other fields of technology. Some non-technical workshops and activities are also planned including a hiring challenge which tends to eliminate the gap between the students and industries and hopefully have students learn about the corporate world and successfully land on their dream jobs.
The event will take place between 8:30 AM and 6:00 PM. Lunch, Hi-Tea and Google Swags will be provided to the participants. The registration is open right now for PKR 250 for an entire day of fun and learning.
