Samsung’s Galaxy S-series is the most anticipated series of the South Korean manufacturer, as most of the consumers around the globe don’t pay much attention towards the bigger and expensive Note-series of the company. The latest addition to Samsung’s flagship S-series, the Galaxy S9 has been confirmed by the company to be launching at MWC which is happening in late February. As of now a leak of the retail box of upcoming Galaxy S9 is circling online which has revealed the supposed specs of the device. The leak seems legit as the specifications mentioned on the box is not much variable than those which are earlier appearing in the rumors and leaks.
According to the leak (first appeared on Reddit) which reveals the supposed retail box of Galaxy S9, the device will feature the same 5.8-inch curved Infinity Display. The device will have the same 18:5:9 aspect ratio like its predecessor Galaxy S8. The retail box also shows that the regular variant of Galaxy S9 will be featuring a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Interestingly, another exciting feature mentioned over the box is that Galaxy S9 is going to feature a “Super Speed” 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera which will offer an Optical Image Stabilization. It seems to be a new 1.28-micrometer 12-megapixel ISOCELL Fast 2L9 sensor with Dual Pixel tech, that was introduced by the company 3 months ago. Super Slow-mo feature of the camera has also been mentioned on the box, which further affirms the rumors that the Galaxy S9 might support 1000fps slow motion quite similar to the Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
The box also reveals that Galaxy S9 will feature wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, the iris scanner, and earphones powered by AKG. While its still not clear whether the device will have a headphone jack or not. Samsung has recently launched it Exynos 9810 chipsets (ready for mass production) but we are not sure that whether the device will be featuring its own brand’s chipset or it will rely on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset. As we are just a month away from the launch of the Samsung’s upcoming beasts Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, so let’s wait until more rumors and leaks came circling around.
