Galaxy Note 9 to have Snapdragon 845 chip and 6GB RAM, benchmark test

Samsung has recently launched its S-series flagships Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ and the leaks about the upcoming Galaxy Note series smartphone have already started coming.

Galaxy Note 9 with model number “Samsung SM-N960U” has surfaced on Geekbench website with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with 6 GB of RAM.

The device showed a multi-core benchmark score of 8806, and a single-core score of 2190. The multi-core and single-core scores that Geekbench gives to show how well the device performs are similar to the SD845-powered Galaxy S9 but lower than the Exynos 9810-powered version. However the Note 9 is still going through testing and development, so Samsung will still have various software optimizations to implement to improve the scores.

It looks like the Galaxy Note 9 will boast a similar design to the Galaxy Note 8, and Samsung will be focusing its attention on developing a new dual-camera setup to rival the output of the all-new Huawei P20 Pro and, of course, make some much-needed improvements to the device’s trademark S Pen stylus.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is also said to be featuring an in-display fingerprint reader as renowned KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a remarkable record when it comes to predictions, has affirmed the rumors, stating that Samsung could be forced to shelve the tech.

As the predecessor of Note 9, the Galaxy Note 8 was released with a model number SM-N950, SM-N960U of Note 9 hints towards a variant headed to the US market. It’s not hard to deduce that Samsung is hard at work on Note 9.

As the smartphone is likely to make its debut somewhere near September, so it’s never a good idea to start listening to the rumors way earlier.
