RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad has arrested two former employees of the Ministry of Education in connection with a cash theft case.
According to an official from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), two individuals were apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad.
The spokesperson confirmed that the individuals who were arrested had previously worked for the Ministry of Education.
He mentioned two individuals, one of whom was appointed as chief internal auditor and the other as chief finance officer. The accused stole over Rs20 million and distributed the money to over 318 “ghost employees,” according to the spokesperson.
The official further stated that the accused had fraudulently secured a membership to the Islamabad Club. A case has been filed against the individuals in question, and an investigation has been initiated.
