According to the latest updates, the fire has re-erupted at the Awami Markaz Software Technology Park.
It is a sad start of Sunday, as the Awami Markaz Software Technology Park in Islamabad has caught fire. The building houses several private and government offices.
As a result of this incident, two people lost lives and one person is reported to be wounded. These people, reportedly, jumped from the office building rather than taking the emergency exit.
Awami Markaz Software Technology Park is a 6-storey building and houses software companies including an office of the Federal Tax Ombudsman. The fire is said to have erupted in Federal Tax Ombudsman office. All the records have also been burned according to reports.
The cause of fire is not yet confirmed but sources say it was caught due to short circuiting. The extent of damage is also not confirmed but due to Sunday majority of the offices were closed. Hence, many people were not at the office.
Knowlege Platform, Aksa-SDS, Federal Tax Ombudsman, and CPEC have their houses in this building.
