Healthcare start-up Find my Doctor raises $200,000 in investment

Healthcare start-up ‘Find my Doctor’ launched almost 2 years ago has managed to raise an investment of Rs. 20 million. The information on investors is not revealed.

Find My Doctor is a mobile application which lets users search, find and book appointments anytime and anyplace. It also helps people in finding blood banks, hospitals, and ambulances.

Healthcare in Pakistan is an important issue. However, in recent times many individuals have started healthcare startups to cater patients who are in dire need of medical attention. Same goes for a healthcare startup ‘Find my Doctor’ which is serving the people of Karachi as of now.

The main aim of raising this investment is to scale the business operations in other cities such as Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi etc and also to become a big virtual hospital in the future.

The app only lists certified doctors approved by Pakistan Medical Association. It details 1,800 doctors with their qualification, availability timings, and fee etc. The app allows users to save and record 10-years of their medical history in it.

While talking to Express Tribune, the CEO of Startup Saad Siddique said, “Healthcare is a difficult market. The funds will enable us to offer three more services to the patients and expand outreach in other cities of the country as well this year.”

Saad Siddique started the startup because of the death of his mother in 2012 due to poor healthcare management system. He said that after his mother died he wanted to step up and improve the poor healthcare management system existing in the country.

Just last month the startup launched another service named as ‘Lab Test at Home’. The service works in such a way that blood is collected from the patient’s home for the lab test. You will receive an SMS and an e-mail within 24-48 hours, which will state that your lab results are available. You then just need to login to view your Lab report results.

Find My Doctor app is available free on both Android and iOS.
