Finally Google Drive can now backup your entire PC

Google has finally made available the Google Drive companion application, Backup and Sync, which can be used to backup the entire data on your PCs.

Released for Mac and Windows operating systems, the application was up for some fine tuning after being delayed a month. As we previously reported, the application was scheduled to be unveiled on June 28 but was delayed to today when it has finally made to the consumers.

The application, Backup and Sync, now allows the users to store all the photos, videos and documents in their exact format to the cloud for future restore. After download and install, the application replaces the old Google Drive uploaders (Google Drive and Google Photos). The application can be used to store 15GB of data for free while options to buy more data are also available.

“Just choose the folders you want to back up, and we’ll take care of the rest,” Google said in a blog post.

The users can use the application to upload the selected folders on a PC. The folders, once selected, will automatically synchronize with the cloud as soon as another file is created and a viable internet connection is available. The synchronization will make sure that you don’t lose any important data due to any hard disk related wrecks and PC malfunctions.

At this instant, the application is suitable for house-hold consumers and business usages alike. Another business-centric application Drive File Stream will make its way to the corporate users that are currently on Google Drive G Suite package.
