ISLAMABAD: A new payment creation solution, ePayment 2.0, has been adopted by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as part of changes designed to improve revenue collection through innovative digital technologies.
Taxpayers in Pakistan can now use the new payment system through the IRIS 2.0 portal, a state-of-the-art technology that streamlines the payment procedure. At the PRAL Headquarters in Islamabad, the ePayment System was inaugurated by Director General (IT&DT) Aisha Farooq.
Taxpayers may now make safe, efficient, and convenient online payments with this cutting-edge system, which removes the need for them to physically visit a bank branch.
A Unified Platform for All Tax Payments
According to a government release, ePayment 2.0 is a huge step forward in revenue management since it handles so many different types of taxes—including sales, income, federal excise duty, and withholding taxes. Before IRIS 2.0, taxpayers had to switch between portals to use a different ePayment system.
Through ePayment 2.0, FBR has offered an enhanced and streamlined user experience that can be accessed immediately from within IRIS 2.0. Efficient and hassle-free payment processing is made possible for both registered and unregistered taxpayers by creating a distinct Payment Slip ID (PSID). A Computerised Payment Receipt (CPR) is sent via email and SMS when a payment is finished. It’s a formal confirmation and can be easily accessed for future use in the IRIS 2.0 system.
The solution enables taxpayers to create a PSID, pay using ADC channels, and receive a CPR in real-time; the CPR is available for future compliance requirements within IRIS; and all of this is accomplished through a secure and exact multi-step workflow.
Additionally, the inclusion of a thorough PSID search function enhances accountability and transparency by making it easy for taxpayers to acquire and verify payment information.
With this degree of connectivity and automation, mistakes and delays are greatly reduced, which greatly improves the tax payment experience and helps FBR achieve its goal of creating a compliant tax environment that is business-friendly.
To better serve taxpayers, FBR has introduced ePayment 2.0, which streamlines and improves the tax payment process by integrating it into the IRIS 2.0 platform.
By providing a unified, user-friendly interface, this integrated solution makes it unnecessary to switch between different platforms or log in to different accounts. Taxpayers are now able to take advantage of a simplified process that consolidates all essential tax payment functions under a single umbrella, thereby enhancing the accessibility and convenience of compliance.
In order to better serve taxpayers and promote a more efficient and technologically advanced Pakistan, FBR has reaffirmed its dedication to improving the user experience through a streamlined and updated interface.
