Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary announced that his ministry has created a geyser-sized biogas plant which would convert organic waste to produce gas. The plant is for domestic use, it will utilize the kitchen waste and turn it into fuel which will be enough for the family of five to six people. The cost of the plant is Rs. 35,000 which is extremely affordable for something which is offering a sustainable resource for use.
In his interview with a private channel, he said that under his “Safe Drinking Water” project, the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) has tested the water under surface and also the water supplied by the companies, in which we found out that 83% of drinking water is unsafe. Therefore, they are building filtration plants everywhere according to the requirement of every tehsil of the country.
He added that the day he took the ministry, he asked them to work on the projects which would improve the lives of local citizens of Pakistan. Lack of safe drinking water is the major issue of the country and their target is to assure the availability of safe drinking water for every citizen. He said that they will spend 70% of the health budget on water-related diseases.
He said that electric rickshaw and motorbike project is the idea of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He added that they are also working on locally produced batteries. Fawad Chaudhary has been very active in the ministry from the day one, along with many other projects, he has also announced to send Pakistan’s first astronaut to space in 2022.
The biogas plant would be available for local use very soon, people would be available to buy and install it easily. Instead of throwing the waste out, you will be able to utilize it which would help you save money.
