Farmers to use drone technology: Punjab Govt.

Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan as it covers the largest sector of our economy. It plays an important role in the growth of the country. Most of the people here are connected to the agriculture directly or indirectly.

Farming is the larger trend which has demonstrated the rapid growth in the agriculture industry.

Till now, farming needs a large workforce. Punjab government has announced the usage of drone technology for better farming. This will enhance the output and boost up the economic growth.

In order to use drones, a farmer has to submit an application to the Deputy Director of agriculture for a permit. After the proper analysis of farming land, a permission letter will be awarded.

A drone is a powerful aerial vehicle. Basically, it’s a flying robot (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle – UAV) that can be remotely controlled or can fly independently by using its sensors and GPS.

This technology will provide the farmers more ways to have a survey on their fields, to do spraying and to analyze the geographical and weather changes in the region. It can improve the irrigation processes and can save water, time and labor as well.

These drones are will also be able to collect the data. This data can be biological as well as environmental. It can increase the quantity and quality of agriculture foods.

These UAV’s would improve the method of spraying at fields as these drones are five times faster than traditional spray methods.

These techniques will connect the farmers with the modern technologies and can ease their ways of production. The farmers will understand the importance of these technologies once they are able to witness their power.
