Facebook is launching a VR headset worth $200

Technological advancement is moving at a nice and fast pace. Tech companies are coming up with products every day to make our lives more comfortable. Similarly, social media platforms are also gearing up to bring exciting features and gadgets for its users globally. Facebook in a bid to promote virtual reality technology on its platform has decided to launch its very own VR headset at a price tag of $200.

The social media behemoth has announced that after the launch one can buy the new VR headset under the Oculus brand. However, in China Facebook will collaborate with Xiaomi to sell VR headsets.

The company’s goal is to cater customers who cannot afford a high spec computer while also hoping that the new VR will bring a new dimension in the field of games. Facebook aims to launch the virtual reality headset in 2018, however, the exact date of is not yet revealed by the company.

Moving onward, the Facebook Messenger is also planning to launch home screen ads across the globe. The company has decided to take this action due to ads space shrinking on its Facebook platform. The main revenue of the company comes from ads, so keeping the context in view this step by Facebook was inevitable. People will see the ads on Facebook Messenger screen from next month.

Moreover, the company has also recently launched a new app for its users worldwide to let users find WiFi hotspot easily using Facebook. Not only the company has launched this new app but is also testing drone to give internet access across the globe.
