Facebook will start rolling out a new tool that will allow companies to post jobs directly on their Facebook Business Pages and job seekers will apply through Facebook.
In addition to being a social networking platform, Facebook is also moving towards being a business and employment-oriented site. By doing so, it will go head-to-head with other job platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc. It will become a source of connecting recruiters and potential job seekers.
Companies’ Pages will be able to create jobs and users/job seekers will have an “Apply Now” option in addition to Like, Comment and Share options. Clicking the button will take users to an application form which they can fill and submit through Facebook Messenger.
Facebook will also add a “jobs” tab on the Pages so that it’s convenient for job seekers to go through all the current openings within a company. Also, a new “Jobs” tab is being added under the “More section” of the Facebook mobile app. In order to boost the job’s ad and for target marketing, the company’s manager or in this case, Page’s admin will have to use Facebook’s boosting tools, which will be a way of revenue generation for Facebook.
This will also be a way of telling unofficial Pages apart from the official companies’ Pages.
This feature is being rolled out to Pages in US and Canada and will be available for everyone globally in the weeks to come.
