PlanX, Pakistan’s largest technology accelerator, has partnered with social media giant Facebook to host Facebook Developers Conference in Lahore. The event will be held on 13th April, 2016 at Arfa Technology Park.
The F8 is one of the highlights of the tech calender. But since only a few people actually get to attend it, Facebook has taken steps to change that. For the first time, the event will be live streamed from San Fransisco and F8 meetups will be held in 27 countries around the world including Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. In an official blogpost they announced:
“With more than 70 percent of developers building for our platform outside of the United States, Facebook’s developer ecosystem truly has a global reach. In an effort to bring developers from all over the world key content and announcements being shared at F8, we’re organizing 27 meetups all over the world to coincide with the event happening live in San Francisco on April 12. Each meetup will feature a live stream of the opening day keynote and time to connect with the local developer community.”
Facebook Developers Conference is an annual event organized by Facebook in San Fransisco for developers and entrepreneurs who build innovative stuff. The Conference is more popularly known as F8, deriving this name from Facebook’s tradition of having 8-hour long hackathons. The event was first held in 2007 and has since then been held intermittently, gaining more regularity in recent years. The program schedule includes keynote from Mark Zuckerberg followed by various breakout sessions circling on specific topics. Facebook also uses this event to make important announcements and introduce new features.
The meetup will be a good way for you to network with like-minded people of Pakistan’s technology scene. If you’re interested in attending the event, RSVP now!
