Facebook has introduced a number of new tools and improvements that will give publishers more control, customization, and flexibility over their broadcasts.
Facebook will roll out a feature to go live on Facebook via a web browser to Pages. This feature is introduced for the ease of Vloggers who want to go Live from their desktops or laptops with a stable camera setting.
Previously only admins could go Live from the page but with “Live Contributor” role in Pages, admins will be able to designate specific individuals to go live on behalf of a Page. This gives contributors the flexibility to stream live content on behalf of a Page whenever it happens.
Video statistics for public videos will be available for Profiles with 5,000 or more followers to help them better understand how their video content performs on Facebook. These metrics will include total minutes viewed, the total number of views, and total engagement (reactions, comments and shares). Video insights for Profiles will also be available in the Mentions app over the coming weeks.
Facebook has added the option for broadcasters to pin comments to the bottom of a live broadcast. Usually, a lot of people comment on a Live video. This feature will let publishers personalize their broadcast and highlight specific comments for their viewers.
A permalink that directs people to a Page’s video content will be made available.
“Accessible via “facebook.com/pagename/videos”, viewers who visit the link will be presented with live video if a broadcast is currently underway, as well as a library of the Page’s previous live and non-live video content in a simple, easy-to-navigate format.”
Now, after a publisher has finished a live broadcast, he/she will be able to post the video to multiple Pages at the same time. Using this feature, publishers can reach new, relevant audiences, avoid sending and re-uploading video and see aggregated insights for posts across all Pages.
Facebook will introduce more features after getting feedback from the publishers and broadcasters.
