Facebook has just launched a new feature – Sports Stadium, a dedicated place for sports fans to get real-time score updates and discuss them with their friends.
With over a billion active users, Facebook is perhaps the biggest common ground of sports fanatics from around the world. So what better way to allow them to celebrate, or trash-talk, than with a dedicated platform on Facebook itself. With 650 million sports fans, Facebook is the world’s largest stadium.
With the new feature, all sports-related content will be present in one place, appearing in real-time and in a chronological order. It will include:
For now, in order to jump in on the bandwagon, users can search for the particular game they are looking for. This will show up live scores, most discussed plays and their friend’s related status updates. They can even comment, like, share individual plays.
Recently, Facebook rolled out a feature allowing people to set a custom status update whenever a sports game was on. This new feature takes it to the next level.
For now Sports Stadium in only available to iOS users in America for football games only. It is hoped to be rolled out internationally very soon.
