Exceptional tech stars get crowned at P@SHA ICT Awards 2018

Keeping up with its tradition to honor exceptional companies and entrepreneurs illuminating the tech space of Pakistan, P@SHA has announced its tech stars for the year 2018.

Over the past weekend, the Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA) held a bright industry event to declare winners for its 15th P@SHA ICT Awards.

The P@SHA Awards, which are the premier event of the IT industry, brought together business leaders from various sectors along with the diplomats and media to point just the right limelight at the winners. The Chief Guest for the awards ceremony was the Honorable Minister of IT&T, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

In his address to the audience, Minister of IT&T, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, expressed his pleasure upon seeing a large representation of Pakistan’s dynamic IT industry at a single platform and assured his support and solidarity to his constituency.

Chairman P@SHA, Barkan Saeed, also congratulated the position holders and emphasized the importance of activities like P@SHA ICT Awards for the confidence building and morale of future architects of the IT Sector.

The Secretary-General P@SHA, Shehryar Hydri emphasized the importance of partnering with the government to push for reforms and incentives that are severely needed for the exponential growth of the IT sector, which has become a backbone of our economic growth.

Every year, the widely renowned P@SHA ICT Awards commemorates the best innovation Pakistani IT Industry has to offer. This year too, hundreds of contestants sent in their submissions which were then evaluated by a team of competent judges hailing from leading tech companies.

This year the award categories were changed to make it more coherent with the standards being followed by APICTA internationally. There were a total of 9 main categories and 33 subcategories for which the awards were given to the winners and runner-ups. The participants came from all across Pakistan and represented large IT companies, entrepreneurs as well as students.

These teams will now travel to Guangzhou, China to represent Pakistan in the 18th APICTA Awards, competing with the top companies from 17 countries.
