Epiphany Lab opens applications for impact-driven startups

Epiphany Lab, a global social accelerator in partnership with Uncharted (formerly Unreasonable Institute), has opened applications for early-stage impact driven startups.

The program will select up to 12 early-stage, impact-driven ventures from across Pakistan each of which will be exposed to a step-by-step methodology to rapidly and systematically validate their venture’s business model over five days. More than 20 seasoned national and international mentors will work with each of the startups to help them create a financial model and a six-month operating plan. Upon successful completion of the Lab, startups will join the Uncharted Tribe, a community of 2,000 plus likeminded startups, investors, advisers, and mentors.

Shah Saud Sahibzada, Co-Founder/CEO of Epiphany said:

“As with other spheres of human development, new ideas are critical to our society’s development and progress. Social entrepreneurs are the torch bearers of indigenous solutions to problems, both old and new.”

This is the first international program specially designed for impact startups to be launched in Pakistan. It has already been implemented successfully in 41 locations around the globe. Previous Uncharted graduates have earned more than USD 229 million in earned revenue and raised more than USD 223 million. They are creating impact in 95 countries and have affected over 25 million lives.

“We believe that social entrepreneurship is the pathway to sustainable transformation of the society. Therefore, we have taken on the responsibility to capacitate social entrepreneurs to help them create exponential impact,” said Samar Hasan, Co-Founder of Epiphany.

It will be a five-day program which will include orientation, workshops on assumption mapping, rapid prototyping, relationship-building with mentors, investors, and partners, strategic planning, and close networking.

Eligibility Criteria

Startups can apply for the lab if they are:

  • Beyond the ideation phase, with 10 to 100 paying customers
  • Addressing a social or environmental problem
  • From any part of Pakistan
  • 18 years and above

Applications are open until October 2, 2017. Interested candidates can apply here.

The lab fee is USD 500. However, up to 50% scholarships are available. If the startup has true potential to solve massive problems or is already creating substantial impact, a full scholarship may be awarded to them.
