Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, has released an API for its Grok generative AI model. This API launched a month ago, offers a range of powerful services specifically designed to help developers build apps and software using Grok’s capabilities.
The main benefit it offers developers is free credits worth $25 per month till the end of the year. It is configured to be generated with the help of the xAI console and lets users personalize its functionality.
Even though Tesla CEO Elon Musk brought attention to the Grok API’s launch in a post he made on X (formerly Twitter) nearly three weeks ago, it appears that this wasn’t enough to pique the interest of the developer community. xAI’s official X handle also announced the API’s release along with a number of incentives meant to entice developers, but this also failed.
Every month until the end of 2024, developers who join up for the xAI console will receive $25 worth of free credits.
There are just two months left in the current year, so any developer who wants to grab $50 worth of Grok API credits for free can do so.
xAI is continuing to offer impressive rewards to developers who have purchased prepaid credits for the API, indicating that the reward frenzy has not yet concluded. xAI announced in a blog post that, from now until the end of the year, developers who have bought prepaid credits would receive a monthly credit offer equal to the amount they paid for those credits.
