Elon Musk extended a global job offer to software programmers, inviting them to join his ambitious mission to create the “everything app.” In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk called on “hardcore software engineers” to showcase their best work by sending it to code@x.com.
Emphasizing that traditional credentials and connections hold no weight, Musk stated that the only thing that matters is the quality of the code.
He stated, “If you’re a hardcore software engineer and want to build the everything app, please join us by sending your best work to code@x.com.” He went on to say, “We don’t care where you went to school or even whether you went to school or what “big name” company you worked at.” Please simply display your code.
This isn’t the first time Elon Musk has mentioned creating an iOS app for everything.
Musk has big goals to make X into a platform with many uses beyond social media, and the “everything app” is just one component of those plans. The software is anticipated to incorporate many functions such as payments, messaging, e-commerce, and more, creating an all-in-one solution similar to WeChat in China.
Elon Musk stated, “We’re rapidly transforming the company from what it was, Twitter 1.0 to the everything app” at an internal X meeting in October 2023. Employees will soon see the software transformed into “a single application that encompasses everything,” he informed them.
Microblogging platform X will launch streaming and banking services in 2025, according to CEO Linda Yaccarino’s announcement earlier this month. In an X post, Yacaarino revealed X Money and X TV, with the intention of broadening the platform’s reach beyond social media engagements.
In 2025, X will also be releasing updates to their AI chatbot Grok, in addition to these features. “X changed the world in 2024,” she wrote. Now, you are the media! 2025 X will connect you in ways you never thought possible. X TV, X Money, Grok, and more. Buckle up. “Happy New Year! 🥂“.
