LAHORE/KARACHI: Eight ex-workers of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) won a case in London for unfair dismissal and were given a compensation order of £500,000, which is about Rs 200 million.

Two years after their dismissal, the workers successfully appealed the national airline’s decision, claiming that it was unfair.

The former workers had worked for PIA for 5 to 15 years. They filed the lawsuit soon after being fired, saying they were fired unfairly. After a court case, the London court decided in their favor and told PIA to pay the people who were directly affected.

PIA has agreed to pay eight former employees £500,000 in damages.
