E-ticketing system to be available in Lahore in a month

Lahore a city of millions where maintaining law and order is quite a hefty task. The heavy traffic, narrow roads make the life of traffic warden quite difficult, which is why the e-ticketing system was the need of the hour.

The government has decided to bring e-ticketing system to the pipeline to curb the problems which traffic wardens and citizens are facing on the daily basis.

The project had been in motion for the past few months, pending the approval of the Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif. Finally, the project has been given the go-ahead from the Punjab CM.

The project to issue e-tickets in handling traffic violations in Lahore will be completed and implemented in a month’s time. This information was stated by the acting Punjab Inspector General of Police Captain (Retd) Usman Khattak in a meeting he was chairing on Monday at the Integrated Command and Control Center in Lahore.

During the meeting, he said that the e-ticketing system will solve issues between the citizens and the traffic police. Which is why there has been constant stress to complete the execution of this project.

Rather than the paper ticket traffic offenders are issued with, the e-ticket is its electronic equivalent which reduces the time being spent in resolving the offense related issues. As a result of e-ticket, offenders can pay the penalty at a later date as required by the law.

Moreover, previously the Government of Punjab has also approved installments of cameras on traffic signals to monitor the traffic motion and to record traffic violations.
