LAHORE: e-Pay Punjab is an online payment service created by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Punjab Finance Department. Since its launch in October 2019, over 6.94 million transactions have brought in over PKR 600 billion in tax income, which is another important milestone.
The news broke at a project review meeting at Arfa Software Technology Board, which Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf chaired.
Additionally, it was detailed that the government has collected a total of 417 billion Pakistani rupees (PKR) in sales tax, 20 billion PKR (in token tax), 15 billion PKR (in traffic challan), and more than 36 billion PKR (in property tax). There was also an increase of PKR 9 billion in tax collection from online vehicle transfers.
According to Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf, “ePay Punjab is now offering online payments of 86 taxes/levies for 18 departments. e-Pay Punjab’s integration with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and all scheduled banks through 1-Link network makes it a secure and reliable payment channel.”
With over 4.77 million downloads, the e-Pay Punjab app creates a unique PSID number that is recognized by all Pakistani banks and its associated channels, such as online and mobile banking, automated teller machines, telecommunications agents, mobile wallets, and over-the-counter (OTC) visits to physical branches. An innovative and trustworthy one-stop solution for online government tax payments, e-Pay Punjab allows residents to pay from the comfort of their homes.
