DisplayMate accredits iPhone X with the best display ever, Note 8 left behind

DisplayMate, a leading electronics’ display evaluator released its study of the iPhone X display earlier today and the results are impressive, to say the least. If you recall, last year’s iPhone 7 had a record high in display performance. However, the iPhone X is here to take the crown.

Over the years DisplayMate (DM) has run exhaustive tests on major flagship displays ranging from the Galaxy Note 8 to the Apple Watch. Samsung Galaxy S8 has already been accredited best-performing display ever. DM’s ratings definitely hold weight in the tech world. So when it says that the iPhone X has the best all-around display it’s ever tested, you know it means something.

Here are some key points from the article published on DiplayMate, worth reading.

  • For more readable display under bright sunlight, the iPhone X’s OLED display has the highest brightness reaching out to 634 nits. The Galaxy Note8 in comparison goes up to 423 nits of manual brightness and 560 nits of auto brightness.
  • iPhone X’s display is the most color accurate display that we DM has measured. It is visually perfect and is considerably better than any mobile display, monitor, TV or UHD TV ever existed.
  • The viewing angles are quite impressive and there are very small differences in brightness and color when viewed with different angles.
  • iPhone X has the most innovative and high-performance Smartphone display that DM has ever tested.

DisplayMate has also credited Samsung for the quality of the OLED panel but also pointed out that it was Apple’s precise color adjustments that got them the perfect scores. Essentially, Apple got higher scores with a Samsung display than what Samsung gets with its own displays.

The display of devices of both Apple and Samsung will increase competition in the market as Apple has also moved to provide OLED display despite the hindrances of meeting production at large scale due to increased demand of iPhone X.

Pakistani e-commerce stores are also offering iPhone X at an expensive cost for as much as 200,000 PKR, so if you don’t want to wait for a month buy one now.
