Dawn Media Group, through a message posted on their website and on Facebook, has claimed that it has been under over the past three months. Both its official social media accounts and accounts of its staff have been subject to many attempts of hijacking and hacking in these past few months.

Of course, this is not the first time that a Pakistani site, especially one as popular as Dawn, has been under cyber attack. But considering the fact that millions of Pakistanis rely on and form opinions based on the content posted on Dawn and other news sites like this, even a simple hack and changing a few news stories can have a disastrous effect.
It bodes well for its readers that Dawn is aware of these attacks and is taking steps to ensure that no harm comes to its integrity. We’ll keep monitoring this issue and update you if any more information comes our way.
