The Punjab government officially launched the “Dastak – Doorstep Services” app on Monday, as ordered by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
With the addition of Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari, Lodhran, Toba Tek Singh, Layyah, Rajanpur, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Gujrat, and Khushab, the program has expanded to 32 districts. During a review meeting in Lahore, the initiative’s chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Faisal Yousaf, explained that trained representatives will help simplify services and make the process more effective and focused on the citizens.
In case you were unaware, the Dastak—Doorstep Services app (also called “Maryam ki Dastak”) can conveniently deliver official documents right to your doorstep. You can order and receive new car registration, e-stamping services, birth/death certificates, domicile certificates, marriage certificates, and more.
A government official or private agent will come to your house to collect the required paperwork for a fee of Rs. 1200. Within nine days of processing, you should receive your processed government document if all is in order.
Citizens, especially women, the elderly, and working people, no longer need to physically visit government offices due to the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak‘ initiative, which provides easy access to more than 65 government services. “Dastak” services are now available nationwide and can be requested by dialing 1202, while they were previously only available in some major cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sargodha.
The app’s current rating on the Google Play Store is quite low at 2.8 out of 5. The main reason for this is that reviews are expressing their dissatisfaction with the excessive charge and the fact that the app is not accessible in their districts, despite official support.
