Daraz, the leading online marketplace, has launched Daraz Pick Up Points across the country to facilitate customers. 47 Daraz hubs across the country and 10 Daraz Dukaans in Karachi have taken on an added function whereby customers can opt to collect their orders from these locations instead of having them delivered to their homes. The service is currently available on prepaid orders and Daraz plans to activate more Daraz Pick Up Points before the mega 11.11 sale event.
“With our entire network of Daraz Shops in Pakistan, we are very excited to launch this new feature for our customers. This gives them the flexibility to pick up their orders at any given time of the day which could be before work, after work or whenever they want. Over the next 6 months, we aim to partner with 100s of stores across the country to make it even more convenient for our customers to pick up their orders.” Kassim Shroff, Head of Localisation, Daraz Pakistan.
In 2018, the online platform launched Daraz hubs in 19 cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and all other major cities to help customers place orders and return products with the assistance of Daraz representatives who are present at the Daraz-owned brick-and-mortar establishments. The agents also help ensure that customer queries and issues are resolved quickly.
A country-wide network of 1672 Daraz Dukaans was launched last year, as well, to facilitate customers. The initiative has had strong reverberations as it has helped bring small retailers into the fold of e-commerce by digitizing their businesses. By onboarding, local businesses as Daraz Dukaans, the online platform has opened up new streams of revenue for store owners. They have been provided with access to the Daraz catalogue and can assist their customers to make purchases online and, in turn, earn commission on every order. Essentially, the inventory of small retail stores across the country has increased by many folds as they now have access to millions of products that they can sell to their customers.
Importantly, customers living in remote areas of the country – where internet penetration is low and access to technology is limited – now have greater access to online shopping.
Good customer experience is a result of cumulative positive interactions between customers and a platform. Daraz Shops and Daraz Dukaans were launched for this purpose. As Daraz Pickup points, these physical establishments will help further enhance the customer experience. They are also crucial to Daraz’s mission of leading Pakistan into the digital age.
