We are living in an age where Internet is the most important part of our lives. Millions of people use it daily for their personal and professional needs. Large amounts of data is exchanged every day, but the moment you connect through the Internet you and your data are exposed. Cyber Security has been introduced as a way to ensure that people can use the Internet safely without any threats or insecurity.
Cyber Secure Pakistan (CSP) is an initiative taken by the Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA), to converge national and international stakeholders and relevant professionals at one point. Since 2012 Cyber Secure Pakistan has conducted very successful events to raise important issues regarding cyber security, but most importantly come up with a solution for these issues.
This year’s event will be a 5-day event taking place at the nation’s capital from April 8th – April 12th. Some of the announced activities include technical awareness sessions by Cyber Security Malaysia, ICANN and APNIC, Open Source Foundation of Pakistan. CSP has arranged workshops on Reverse Engineering Malware, Cyber Child Protection, Mobile Application Penetration Testing among several others. CSP 2015 will also have a competition ‘Capture the Flag’ to be held on April 11th. This competition is for people who are interested in Penetration Testing, while also appreciating Black Hat hackers and utilizing their skills in Ethical Hacking.
