Customs at Lahore Airport Sieze 37 iPhones Worth Rs11.5 Million

LAHORE: Customs officers at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport arrested a man attempting to smuggle 37 iPhones. The individual, traveling from Sharjah, was caught carrying the devices, valued at approximately Rs11.5 million. The operation was conducted following specific instructions from senior officials.

In a separate incident earlier in November, customs apprehended a man trying to smuggle over 1.6 kg of gold, six diamond sets, and five iPhones. The individual, arriving from Dubai on a private flight, had concealed the gold in his clothing. A legal complaint was filed against him under the Customs Act.

Similarly, in October, customs conducted two significant operations at the same airport. These efforts uncovered mobile phones worth millions from a flight attendant and two passengers:

• The devices were hidden in personal belongings and on the individual.

All individuals involved were taken into custody, and legal actions were initiated. These cases underscore the ongoing vigilance of customs officials in preventing smuggling activities at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
