If you own a Samsung Galaxy S, J, A, or Note series device, creating and applying your own custom themes is just a few clicks away.
An XDA-Developers member “satishtony” created an app called themeDIY. The app works on any Galaxy phone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above. The app is available for free on Play Store and you do not need to root your device to install it.
The app lets you customize application overlays with just a few taps. The app has over 50+ fonts ready to download and install. It also lets you select between Light and dark SystemUI. The app has over 35+ system app overlays and 10+ third-party app overlays. It also offers over 1000+ predefined colors to pick. The app lets you pick individual colors for each third-party app. You can also add your favorite wallpaper in your theme.
To apply a theme, download the app from Google Play Store, open it and select individual colors for system applications and for third-party applications. After that, select the overlays you want and give that theme a name. Save the theme and apply it to your phone.
Here’s what the developer had to say:
“The app lets one theme more than 35 system application overlays and more than 10 third-party applications’ overlays. In addition, a universal selector for having either a “Light” theme or a “Dark” theme activated is available as well. Moreover, there’s more than a thousand pre-defined colors to pick from coupled with an archive of all the themes’ source files.”
