According to the Engineering Development Board (EDB), almost 32 companies from Pakistan took part in the world’s largest industrial technologies fair held two weeks ago in Germany. This fair, known as the Hannover Messe, was held in between 24th and 28th April in the city of Hannover with leading engineering companies from all around the world participating.
The statement by the EDB stated that they had made arrangements for Pakistan’s participation in the fair after a long gap of over six years. The funding for this was provided by the Export Development Fund approved by the Ministry of Commerce. To further illustrate on how significant the event was, it is to note that the fair was inaugurated by USA’s President, Barrack Obama, and German Chancellor, Miss. Angela Markel.
The key motto for this year’s fair was “Integrated Industry Discover Solution”. Over the course of the five day event, around five thousand global participants showed their latest technologies that are used in the manufacturing of energy systems. The shows features at the event were on Automation, Digital Factory, Energy, Industrial Supply, and Research and Technology.
The theme chosen by the Pakistani companies at the event was “One Nation One Vision” with the slogan of a vibrant Pakistan. The technologies exhibited by the companies included several different products some of which included farm machinery, pressure compressors, and industrial valves. These products gained some attention from the audience at the fair.
Tariq Ejaz, the CEO of the EDP, has said “we look forward to participate with high numbers of exhibitors next year.” This means that we can expect Pakistan to take part in the event in the upcoming years as well.
This move taken by the EDP towards the improvement of the engineering sector is an appreciatable one. After a break of over six years, engineering companies from Pakistan have participated in the annual fair for industrial technologies.
