CodeGirls, a community-funded that empowers young girls with technology, business and life skills, has inducted its fourth cohort of 120 participants kicking off on March 1st in a ceremony at Lincoln Corner.
The orientation ceremony was attended by the boot camp participants, trainers, mentors, sponsors, organizers, community leaders and supporters of the program. Founder Consulnet Corporation and COO Genetech Solutions, Shamim Rajani introduced the program to the audience and how it is running in multiple phases changing 120 lives every four months. The program introduction was followed by a video note by Executive Director United Global Initiative Dr. Hasnain Walji. United Global Initiative one of the key partner organizations of CodeGirls, along with WomenInTechPK and various local and international sponsors.
CodeGirls launched in July last year with the mission to empower the next generation of women in tech and business, who do not have critical means to gain such exposure. The program enrolled 120 participants in the first and second cohort, retaining 89 participants and successfully graduating 79 participants.

The orientation ceremony also hosted some keynote sessions with entrepreneurs and women in tech of the Karachi ecosystem. The first keynote was delivered by Founder Sheops and FemProw Nadia Patel Gangjee that encourage young girls to move out of their comfort zone.
Senior Software Engineer Security.AI Sana Amin, one of the program’s friends and sponsors spoke to the audience all the way from Silicon Valley, talking about her experience in Technology and how it has changed her life. Her talk was followed by a session of Managing Director Madvertisingpk Danish Ejaz on the importance of improving communication skills and how they can add up to the chances of being successful in one’s career.
At the end of the ceremony, Founder WomenInTechPK and Co-Founder CodeGirls Faiza Yousuf appreciated all the friends of the program and spoke about the immense support they have received from both local and international tech communities. The participants later networked with their trainers, mentors and other guests.
CodeGirls is currently accepting applications for both Phase 1 and 2 of their program.
