In a significant development, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced that students achieving over 65% marks in Intermediate Part I and II will be awarded laptops.
This announcement was made during the launch of the Honhaar Scholarship Program at Government College Women’s University in Sialkot, where the Chief Minister revealed that the first batch of laptops had already been delivered.
The Chief Minister emphasized her personal involvement in selecting high-quality laptops for deserving students, stating, “Laptops will be given to all students who scored above 65%.”
On November 20, the Chief Minister instructed relevant authorities to distribute laptops to deserving students under the ‘CM Punjab Laptop Scheme’ within the next 90 days.
She also emphasized providing 2,000 laptops to minority students who qualify. Top position holders from the Matriculation and Intermediate (F.Sc) exams will receive laptops along with a Guard of Honour.
As per the CM media wing’s statement, eligible students will be awarded the latest Core i7, 13th-generation laptops as part of the scheme.
Additionally, CM Maryam Nawaz announced plans to expand the Honhaar Scholarship Program. Currently offering 30,000 scholarships, the program will see an increase of 20,000 scholarships, bringing the total to 50,000 in the next budget.
The initiative will also extend to benefit students in their second and third years. Furthermore, the Chief Minister introduced a new scheme to distribute 100,000 e-bikes free of cost to students in Punjab, aiming to provide environmentally friendly transportation solutions for their daily commutes.
Addressing the students, Maryam Nawaz urged them to remain steadfast in their studies and to avoid distractions that could hinder their progress. She emphasized, “Pakistan is our red line, and we must remain loyal to our homeland,” encouraging the youth to uphold truth and integrity.
