Technology and Entrepreneurship had made its way to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The pace of technology progress has particularly increased because of the recent events such as Digital Youth Summit, Code for Pakistan – Civic Hackathon, establishment of BaseCamp and much more. Now, we have another good news coming out of the province.
CISCO – a famous California-based international IT Company has signed MoU with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Science & Technology and Information Technology (ST&IT) department. The purpose of this MoU is the establishment of CISCO academies in different universities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These academies will provide professional training of international standard to the IT graduates and other professionals. This will empower the students of Peshawar with CISCO certification without travelling to other regions of Pakistan. The trainings will be offered to the graduates on 75 % confessional charges in the province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for ST&IT, Shahram Tarakai was Chief Guest at the event; while addressing the attendees, he said that MoU Signing will be a revolutionary step for smart usage of information and communication technology for the socio-economic development of the province. He added that the provincial government is committed to promoting information & communication technology in all sectors of the province.
The MoU was signed by the authorities in ST&IT department and CISCO Pakistan. This is the first time that an international standard government IT institute or university will exist in the province. Now the young IT professionals can get certified and compete with the IT industry both locally and globally.
